The Little Prince

The Little Prince tells the story of a melancholy little prince who comes into collision with his own rose, as the result, he travels to neighboring planets, found what he was pursuing and back to its planet, B-612, at the end of the book. After reading the book I have the impulse to cry, without knowing how, feel that the little prince has a kind of magic, bring me into his world, let me understand the true meaning of love and life.

During the little prince's journey, he met a majestic king, a vanity-loving arrogance, a contradictory alcoholic, a busy businessman, a hard-working lamp-man, and a geographer who recorded only the great things. As the story progresses, the little prince comes to earth which has hundreds of millions of adults. He meets the author who is a pilot, a fox who wants to be tamed, and a snake that can bring the little prince back to his planet. The little prince speaks continuously and pleasantly about what happened on the journey with the author. On the first anniversary of the little prince's departure from the planet, he decided to leave the world and return to his own planet to guard his stars.

To me, the most fascinating aspect of the story was when the little prince met a fox which wanted to be tamed and told the little prince that the meaning of taming was to build a relationship. The little prince then remembered his roses. He realized that he had tamed his own rose, and the rose had tamed the little prince as well. Even though there are thousands of roses on earth, the rose on his own planet means a completely different meaning to the little prince. Unlike the traditional perception of the fox's cunning image, the little prince learned from the fox that he and the rose should be responsible for each other. The fox plays the role of life mentor in the little prince’s growth path, giving a lot of wisdom advice to the little prince.

In the road to growth, people often lose the innocence that only children have because of the love of vanity, the pursuit of fame and gain, and the emphasis on achievements. Like the illustrations drawn at the beginning of the book, children look at things from a different perspective that surprise everyone while adults like to see the world with indifferent numbers merely.

We are gradually becoming what society expects us to be, even the kind of adults we despised the most when we were little. Innocence, which is the most precious asset of children. Because of innocence, they can see the world from the simplest point of view, and do not care about what others say; With innocence, we can look at the world in a powerful and unconstrained style, make the world beguiling; Embrace innocence, we are full of illusions about nature, full of expectations to meet each day.

How many people can maintain the beauty of childhood in today's life? As science and technology advance, so does human greed. Humans will never learn to be content, to see what is around them, but the ending will be like the little prince in the story, before leaving the world, he finally found that his own planet, B-612, the rose, the three volcanoes, and the sheeps which will eat the rose at anytime are his stars, the things what he was pursuing.

Since human beings cannot live without science and technology, how about loving ourselves and spending more time with ourselves, listen carefully to what we really want to say, carefully perceive, see our own changes, keep curiosity in everything. Find out our own beauty in nature.

The little prince is a miraculous story, it can bring you into the character undeniably. Unlike ordinary fairy tales, the ending of The Little Prince is not wonderful. Nevertheless, in the story, I can slowly dig into what I was in childhood. Bygones can not be recovered, science and technology will only be improved day by day. Grasp the present, let us rediscover the stars that belong to us.
