Lecture of life

When it comes to my interest in reading, the importance of novels could not be overemphasized. I usually immerse myself in the moving tableau which the author produces, vibrated by the stunning lines and plots. This time, I opened a book named “Tuesdays with Morrie.” It teaches us the true meaning of life through the old professor’s past experiences, and makes us understand the importance of having a correct philosophy of life have learned the importance. I to show our feelings and love toward our loved ones that I can take death in perspectives.

The story began with Mitch, a bright student in his college year, and his professor, Morrie, who devoted his whole life to educating and psychology. After Mitch graduated from college, he gave up his dream of being a musician and became an extremely busy journalist who ignored his personal life. However, some news about Morrie’s suffering from ALS, a fatal disease that makes people unable to move, urged him to contact with his professor again. A series of lessons about life and death lasting for fourteen weeks initiated right after the reunion. The courses contain several maxims, personal experiences, and affecting stories. Mitch as well as readers span-new horizons toward life. In the end, although the great teacher still passed away, his distinctive ideas not only put Mitch to a down-to-earth life and give readers good vibration.

As far as success is concerned, hard-work and competition are two components that come to our mind. In order to step on the road to fame and fortune, Mitch spent almost half of his life working like a spinning top; however, he sacrificed his time with his girlfriend and missed things important in his daily life. Mitch is just like a nonstop machine living others’ life. On the other hand, although Morrie had only few months left, he cherished every moment with his sweethearts, including having meals together and holding a pre-death funeral when he is still alive. Despite having terrible relationship with his father in his childhood, Morrie grew up with his step mother harmoniously, learning how to treat others and control emotions. The most important thing is that he thought of everything positively. Morrie is indeed a good example for us to follow.

The most valuable thing I learned from this book is that we should show our love immediately to our friends and family. Our time is limited, so we can’t just waste it living a meaningless life. We can’t really estimate how much time will be left for us to be with each other; however, we have the power to determine how splendid the show of our lives is going to be. One of your lovers could pass away suddenly without any warning, and you may not have any opportunity to say goodbye. How regretful it will be to hide your enthusiasm and confine yourself in a dark horrible corner without any understanding! In my opinion, we should not take others for granted; instead, we should say “Thank you” or “I love you” with a sincere smile. No one can make time go backwards, so cherish your life!

To sum up, this book indeed tells us the true meaning of a successful life and how to lead our mind to a right read. Nothing except this book can inspire people to change their original mind. I really want to recommend this book to everyone who wants to get ease and comfort from human relationships and toward life.
