Greg Kenton, a protagonist in the story is a talented little boy, who is fond of earning money. First, Greg earned profits from his family members with some chores, such as doing the laundry or cleaning his brothers’ room. He expanded his business gradually while attending the school. One day, he came up with a brilliant idea if he could sell things to his classmates in order to get the rest part of their lunch money, then he would become a moneybags. Since then, he started his business making money, but also he broke school rules and was warned no to sell stuff at school again by the principal.

However, this didn’t stop Greg from earning money. He figured out that only by publishing his own comic strip could he earn money without breaking any school rules. Though he still had made a lot of money in the end, I considered he spent too much time on his business. In the plot, there's a girl named Maura, who copied Greg's mode of publication and became Greg’s rival in consequence. After a keen competition, they found that both of their comic strips were interesting and fun. Then, they decided to promote and gain profits together. With the big success of their cooperation and having a huge amount of money, the two little fellows realized that only by donating their money to the charities can they last their passion of running business.

Perhaps, most readers would focus on the main character's financing and the method of earning money, whereas, I would better to concentrate on losing friendship while getting rich. If Greg had not regarded Maura as a rival, they could have been friends early. I had an inspiration from Greg and Maura’s competition and cooperation that life would be nothing if we don’t have good communication and interaction with others. The moral of this novel is that it is more blessed to give than to receive.

Same as Greg, I am a money lover. And I also try hard saving money every minute and every moment. From shopping to saving the costs of living, l have made a lot of efforts. Since I often focus on being surrounded with making money, I lost many friends. Therefore, I would better to realize the feeling of the prograstonist. In fact, It is no wrong to fond of getting rich, because that different people in the face of different situations or even if living in different places will have the different views of money. In the storyline, it described some pipelines of earning money by Greg. In the end of the story, Greg finally realized that the best usage of money is not to gain but to disburse. To sum up, I thought the book is worth reading. Besides narrated lots of financing methods, the novel also told us the right values of money and the importance of keeping friendship.
