Pride and Prejudice

Approximately, folks in this world are so fastidious, criticizing others who surround them or even have always been having high self-esteem. Maybe they don't always pay attention to it when you work hard, but have they ever been aware of how people regard themselves? Everyone needs to hold the spirit of modesty. As a proverb goes, "A hedge between keeps friendship green." Getting along with people with the genuineness of heart will let them feel that you're friendly, willing to make friends with you as well.

Pride and Prejudice, as the name suggests, refers to the personality and attitude of a person. Exhibiting posture which keeps aloof while a person is considering himself to be slightly better than others; once people have the prejudice to someone, they will hold the opposite point to others. It is pretty difficult to have a true communication; furthermore, this sometimes becomes the biggest barrier between human beings.

The course of a storyline is based upon two characters, Darcy and Elizabeth. Darcy, a man of a haughty temper, fell in love with Elizabeth, yet he was ashamed of her background. Because Elizabeth wasn't born into a wealthy family, he couldn’t get over his preconception. It made him feel degraded by heading over heels in love with a girl who was from humble origins. Although they loved each other deeply, he refused to confess to having the love affair. Nevertheless, his arrogance was repulsive to Elizabeth.

Worst of all, she indicated that she didn't need his love announcement. Forasmuch as Darcy had his friend separate from Elizabeth's sister. Meanwhile, he was accused of treating his friend roughly. Therefore Elizabeth's abhorrence and misunderstanding for a variety of reasons. However, Darcy was scolded by Elizabeth occasionally, and then he realized his mistake. Darcy not only played the matchmaker for his friend with Elizabeth's sister, but also dealt with the trouble made by her immature little sister without letting people know it. Unexpectedly, she knew the truth, expressing her heartfelt gratefulness to him. Besides, she apologized and confessed her feelings. Eventually, they belonged together with blessedness.

In my point of view, the most important thing in the story is to an introspective, unpretentious and forgivable soul. Due to Elizabeth's prejudice which makes her weigh upon her conscience, she still can stay calm and reflect on her past mistakes. She raises herself to a higher level by finding out her deficiency. In addition, Darcy is a commendable man. Even though his appearance may easily convey to others an impression that he's an arrogant and defiant man at first, his mental side is an amiable guy and always forgives someone who makes mistakes. Such an unconditional tolerance and patience are the qualities I look up to. A person of good descent tends to develop sense of superiority involuntarily. Together with improperly speech, it will rapidly enhance misunderstanding between each other.

From now on, I have finer feelings through reading; everything seems clearer in my mind back and forth. For instance, we don't often figure out a person or even a thing by prejudice. Therefore, I need to improve my empathy and wisdom, learning from the characters the way they treat others and deal with things. Moreover, we must realize the fact that first impression is not always correct. Don't let surface of incident blind your horizon, and also attach to what it has got because everything fades away more swiftly than what you think. Just like Shakespeare has said, “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." Indeed, no matter how you define a person is, you must to comprehend the whole situation before making conclusions. Since various things that you haven't known are only the tip of the iceberg, getting along with new mates without labels and prejudices is much wiser.
