Bridge to Terabithia

Bridge to Terabithia, a story concerning the relationship between Jess and Leslie, incorporates family, bully, imagination and friendship. Leslie turns up in Jess’s life abruptly and brings something special to it unexpectedly. She not only betters his life but helps him to find the inner self. The adventure they experienced is so imaginative and thrilling, so the relationship between the two characters becomes increasingly strong as they spend more time together. This book constitutes more than just a story because it has plenty of significances inside. On top of that, the following is how I explicate my points.

The value of family is approximately beyond description. It plays a pivotal role in our lives and supports us. Although our family do not always have ample time to keep us company, they are concerned about how we have been. As far as I am concerned, it does not matter how long they have accompanied me as long as we apprehend one another’s situation. We are busy with our own business and do not have time to be with one another as often as possible. Nevertheless, we do worry and love one another and that is the point.

Friendship is indispensable for any individual on the grounds that we never ever totally live on our own in our entire lives. We want to be alone on some occasions, but on no account do we want to be solitary and isolated. We need someone to converse with or share our feelings with. For instance, we are very likely to need someone to listen to our complaints and inner voice when we are dejected and feel like weeping.

The issue of bullying has been widely discussed for a long time. It is definitely detrimental to not only the pupils but also their minds and bodies. When addressing this problem, school educators and the society alike ought to dig deep into the origin of every case of bullying instead of punishing the bullies initially and heedlessly. Supposing we are not doing so, the cases as regards to bullying will be broadcast repeatedly, cause a sensation and pass by without a trace. Providing we want to resolve the thorny problem of bullying on campus, we must employ appropriate approaches to coping with it.

Nowadays, the importance of imagination has something to do with our futures in that intelligent people are everywhere to find. The capability of using our imagination is able to change our lives because the world needs something new, novel, and interesting. Enterprises are inclined to engage those who are inventive and capable of breaking the ground rather than those who are intelligent and lack creativity and originality.

After a circumspect scrutiny, I perceive family, friendship, bully and imagination as the four pillars of Bridge to Terabithia. At first, the relationship between Jess and his family is not agreeable, and this gives rise to his loneliness. Second, so strong is the bond between Jess and Leslie that no wonder Leslie’s demise leads him to great grief and urges him to construct the wooden bridge for himself so as to be connected with the outside world rather than stay as a solitary outsider. Third, the example of Jess’s being bullied is a highlight worthy of note and discussions on campus. Last but not least, Terabithia is the splendid product of Jess and Leslie’s imagination, an element to which many young adolescents are strongly attached. In a nutshell, I am exceedingly intrigued by this affecting story and its resonance.
