Peter Pan

Children looking at the sky, dreaming of what Neverland looks like, the land where the bravest boy, Peter Pan, lives. With beautiful mermaids swimming in the blue sea nearby while Indians singing and dancing all nights, and angry pirates sailing around, this island has abundant of exciting adventures. In children’s eyes, it’s a wonderful place which everyone wants to explore. Through imaginations, colorful dreams, desirable stories, and deepest believe build up every kid’s happiest and widest sceneries.

I remember I used to have those beautiful eyes with curiosity and full of sweet dreams, the time that I still believe in flying in the sky, but I have no idea since when I lost all of these. The more I grow, the more pressure I get. Struggling in my busy, growing life, I forgot all my valuable memories. I started to wonder where my colorful view of life is? I try to ask myself what exactly I believe in and where did my dreams go?

This is the moment until I start to realize how important I need my imaginative eyes back, the eyes that can take me wherever I want to go, the eyes that can bring my dreams and believes back, so I can fly up into the sky and dream wide. Unfortunately, some part of my mind told me to be practical and face the reality, which woke me up from my dreams. They made everything seemed wrong. They shouted out that I can’t fly in my mind, they argued that I can’t keep daydreaming. I was heart-broken, like throwing me from the sky I am dreaming of to the deepest hole underground.

Surprisingly, Peter Pan is the one who saved me, the boy who is always saving the best memory for everyone’s deepest believe. He taught me the way to see the colorful sceneries: Always explore the world with curiosity and never forget to leave lovely wonderful thoughts in our heart. I suddenly realize what I forgot to do: to cease a while and enjoy every moment in my life, like Wendy visiting Neverland, telling me to broaden my mind in order to add in more fantastic experience.

J.M.Barrie , the author of “Peter Pan”, once written in the book :”The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease for ever to be able to do it.” At first, I was quite depressed when I found this quote, but now, it occurs me that I was wrong. Of course we all know people cannot fly, we will fall if we jump from the top, but it does not mean our thoughts and dreams can’t fly. No matter how old we are, if we can cherish our passion for the world, we are flying in the sky in our minds, with freedom and curiosity, which brings back our beautiful eyes, just like Peter Pan said.

Irrefutably, Peter Pan is a boy that wants to run away from the real society, and was seemed quite immature. However, in my mind, he is the one that protects every person’s happiness and dreams, so that when people get lost on their ways in life, Peter calls out their beautiful memories, which accompany them for the rest of their journey as well as help them create new ones. To me, he is the one that knows the needs in our deepest and weakest part of heart. Personally, I think he is actually the mature one.
