疾管署推動「正確洗手七字訣」：「內、外、夾、弓、大、立、腕」。行政院消費者保護會-宣導素材 (外文版) 將「正確洗手七字訣」 譯為 Wash Your Hands the Right Way，我自己在即將出版的《世紀病毒：必讀防疫英文知識與詞彙》裡把它譯成 Wash Your Hands Well in 7 Steps。正確洗手七字訣中的「大」是指「搓大拇指和虎口」。
大拇指 (thumb) 與食指 (index finger/ forefinger) 之間 (the area between the thumb and index finger) 的「虎口」英文叫 purlicue。
美國電視益智問答 (television quiz show) The Chase 節目裡就曾問過這個問題： “If a tattoo artist put a curlicue on your purlicue, what part of your body would that be?” (刺青師在你的 purlicue 上刺了 curlicue (漩渦花飾/花體字)，請問是在身體哪個部位？)
底下這段文字中也出現 right hand purlicue (右手虎口) 的字眼：
"She was sitting at the corner of her bed, her forehead resting on her right hand purlicue, eyes fixated on the floor." (Pravesh Sharma: Use of common anti-anxiety medication ...www.dallasnews.com › commentary › 2016/05/26 ›)

不過 purlicue 用來指手掌「虎口」這個意思，除非是骨科醫師，在北美很少人知道，連美國最大部頭的 Webster's Third New International Dictionary, Unabridged 都沒還收這個意思。(https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/purlicue. Accessed 7 Jun. 2020.) 我 6月7日上他們網站查詢，還問我為什麼要查這個字。
倒是在英國 purlicue 不算是特別冷僻的字眼，Oxford, Collins 都有收錄，底下是 Collins 的解釋：
