二月四日中國翻譯研究院針對新型冠狀病毒感染的肺炎 (武漢肺炎) 疫情，按疫病名稱、防控、政策、病理症狀等，分為七個類別，公布審定過的180條疫情相關詞彙的英文翻譯。
我將中文說法不符台灣習慣者加以修訂，如：mobile source of infection 原來是「行走的傳染源」，改為「移動傳染源」；virus carrier「病毒攜帶者」改為「病毒帶原者」；sporadic case 「散在病例」 改為「零星病例」；把 the maximum penalty 的「頂格處罰」改為「最高處罰」；patient with fever「發熱病人」，fever clinic「發熱門診」改為「發燒病人」、「發燒門診」；「延遲開學」英文原為 to postpone the reopening of schools，改為 to postpone the back-to-school day；palpitations「心慌」改為「心悸」；septic shock 「感染性休克」改為「敗血性休克」等，並剔除較不實用及宣傳口號。
英文部分也根據英文習慣及使用頻率做了一些調整，如「自我隔離」原譯 “to quarantine yourself in your home” 太冗長，而且 Google search 只有 8 筆，而 "to self-isolate" 則有About 446,000 results， “to self-quarantine” 也有 About 70,000 results (as of Feb 7)，因此改為後兩者。又如：「勤洗手/仔細洗手」英文原為 to wash your hands often/carefully，雖然正確，但不夠響亮，所以改為： Wash your hands often and well! 底下使用頻率也可佐證。

有些條目則中英文都修改，如「雙肺浸潤性病灶」英文原為 infiltration in both lungs，比較像描述，改為較常用的醫學用語 pulmonary infiltrate，中文也改為較簡明的「肺浸潤」；「含酒精洗手液」 alcohol-based hand rub/sanitizer，改為「乾洗手(劑)」hand sanitizer；最後我再加上沒出現在中國翻譯研究院公告的180條裡的「法定傳染病」(notifiable disease)。
