劉宇昆（英語：Ken Liu)，1976年出生於中國甘肅省蘭州市，是一名美籍華裔科幻和奇幻文學作家，同時也是翻譯員、律師和電腦工程師。
畢業於哈佛大學，主修英國文學和法學，副修計算機。2017年，辭職專事寫作。
2002年隨著《迦太基的玫瑰》一文問世，劉宇昆逐漸受到美國文學界矚目。2012年他憑藉短篇小說《The Paper Menagerie 手中紙，心中愛》分別奪得星雲獎最佳短篇故事獎和雨果獎最佳短篇故事獎，成為第一位獲得星雲獎和雨果獎兩項世界科幻小說大獎的華裔作家。
2013年9月，劉宇昆憑藉作品《 Mono no Aware 物哀》再次榮獲雨果獎最佳短篇小說獎。

劉宇昆同時致力於中美文化交流，曾將劉慈欣、郝景芳、陳楸帆、馬伯庸、夏笳等中國科幻作家的作品譯成英文在國外發表。他在2012年11月7日簽約擔任《三體 (The Three-Body Problem)》的譯者。2015年8月，《三體 (The Three-Body Problem)》獲得雨果獎最佳長篇小說獎。2016年8月，他翻譯的郝景芳的小說《北京摺疊 (Folding Beijing)》獲雨果獎最佳中短篇小說獎。2017年，劉宇昆的《摺紙和其他故事 (The Paper Menagerie and Other Stories）》獲得軌跡獎最佳短篇獎，日文譯本則由早川書房於2017年出版，書名為「母の記憶に」。
