Bobbie, Peter and Phyllis live happily in London with their mother and father. One day their father is taken to prison and everything changes. Edith Nesbit (伊迪絲‧內斯比特) is born on 15th August 1858 in London. She is one of five children. Her first years are happy because she and her brothers and sisters have a lot of freedom. But when Edith is only three and a half years old, Mr Nesbit dies suddenly. After that the family often moves house and Edith lives in many different places, both in England and abroad. She goes to several boarding schools, but she doesn’t like school life very much.
